چکیده

Rapeseed (Brassica napus L. ssp. oleifera Metzg) is attacked by a wide range of pests. Breeding resistant cultivars one the best methods protecting crops against insects, and non-cultivated species Brassicaceae can be used as resistance donors. In this study, we investigated relationship between nutrient content to two commonly occurring pests (Delia radicum Brevicoryne brassicae) in 12 hybrid combinations. The experiment was conducted at Pozna? University Life Sciences Experimental Station located D?o?. assessment carried out for three years (2017, 2018, 2019) on randomly chosen individuals growth stages: vegetative stage flowering stage. B. brassicae D. observed all years, however, macronutrient micronutrient contents well total nitrogen, sulfur, sulfur sulfate were only 2019. Statistically significant negative association Ca discovered. Additionally, positive Cu observed. importance selected mineral elements plant widely discussed.

Resistance in Selected Corn Hybrids to Meloidogyne arenaria and M. incognita.

A total of 33 corn hybrids were evaluated in a series of greenhouse and field trials to determine if they differed in resistance to either Meloidogyne incognita race 3 or M. arenaria race 1. Reproduction of M. incognita race 3 and M. arenaria race 1 on the hybrids was also compared. Reproduction of M. arenaria differed among corn hybrids after 58 to 65 days in greenhouse experiments; however, r...

Nutrient Content and Nutritional Water Productivity of Selected Grain Legumes in Response to Production Environment

There is a need to incorporate nutrition into aspects of crop and water productivity to tackle food and nutrition insecurity (FNS). The study determined the nutritional water productivity (NWP) of selected major (groundnut, dry bean) and indigenous (bambara groundnut and cowpea) grain legumes in response to water regimes and environments. Field trials were conducted during 2015/16 and 2016/17 a...

Toxins for Transgenic Resistance to Hemipteran Pests

The sap sucking insects (Hemiptera), which include aphids, whiteflies, plant bugs and stink bugs, have emerged as major agricultural pests. The Hemiptera cause direct damage by feeding on crops, and in some cases indirect damage by transmission of plant viruses. Current management relies almost exclusively on application of classical chemical insecticides. While the development of transgenic cr...

Role of Dehydrodiferulates in Maize Resistance to Pests and Diseases

Phenolic esters have attracted considerable interest due to the potential they offer for peroxidase catalysed cross-linking of cell wall polysaccharides. Particularly, feruloyl residues undergo radical coupling reactions that result in cross-linking (intra-/intermolecular) between polysaccharides, between polysaccharides and lignin and, between polysaccharides and proteins. This review addresse...
